Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As part of Canterbury Round Table we're planning to row the English Channel in order to raise money for The Anthony Nolan Trust. Anthony Nolan are fighting against leukaemia. They find and look after bone marrow donors as well as researching how to make transplants more successful. Apart from Anthony Nolan being the Round Table charity for 2009/10 we also know of several people who have suffered from leukaemia. Their ages have gone from 4 years old to 40 and sadly they didn't all manage to fight the disease. We miss these people and want those suffering from leukaemia now, and in the future, to have a better chance.
We've chosen to row the Channel as it's demanding, it's an obvious thing to do when you live in Kent and we're not very good at swimming. Hopefully we'll build enough interest to raise the £4000 target for our boat as well as publicising Anthony Nolan through this web-site, local news articles and with our charity challenge that we ran in Canterbury city centre.
This is our second attempt, as both our boats sank last year when we tried this before. Sinking was a great experience in itself, but rather frustrating, so we've gone through all the training and effort again so that we can honour our commitment, meet our challenge and support Anthony Nolan.
So please help all those with leukaemia by sponsoring us. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Thank you for your support and all the best
