Story
Who are we?
We are a combination of friends, aunts, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers who all have one mission: To aid those at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and raise the awareness of blood cancer, ultimately increasing the number of stem cell donors on the register, especially from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Who is Milan Singh?
There is a little superhero called Milan Singh who prompted this movement ‘Happy to Help’. When Milan was just three, Doctors found cancerous tumours in his abdomen. With the doctors & Milan's amazing bravery, he successfully fought off the condition and was back to living a normal, mischievous life. However, Milan was then diagnosed with AML Leukaemia (a form of blood cancer) and was awaiting a match
for a bone marrow transplant. Many other children are in the same predicament. Unfortunately Milan’s battle came to an end during summer of 2015 but we are keen to carry on his legacy and build on the £46,000 already raised.
Who are we running for?
We are running for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) where Milan and our team captain/ CEO of Happy To Help were treated and looked after. Majority of the patients at GOSH are under the age of 2, some who have been admitted there since birth. Happy to Help are raising is with the aim to support the purchases of medical equipment so the patients at GOSH can continue to receive a high quality service to defeat their battles.
