Story
I became a trustee of The Food Chain last year. The Food Chain is an amazing charity which exists to ensure people living with HIV in London can access the nutrition they need through combination of meal and grocery deliveries, cookery classes and communal eating opportunities. On top of that it's a really fun organisation to be a part of. Obviously fundraising is a big part of what we do and what keeps us going, and I've had genuinely brilliant times at Food Chain events from delicious meals in our kitchen at Acorn House, to bingo nights, to Pride. So with that in mind i'm hoping to keep the brilliant times going by...spending 24 hours in July marching up and down the UK's highest peaks!!
So, the peaks...a group of us from The Food Chain will be taking on the 3 peaks challenge in July. We'll be scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours, the Scaffel Pike summit should be at about 1am! The total distance is around 44km (27miles) and the total ascent is 9800ft (3000m), so you know, easy peasy.
Thank you for any donations, it really is very much appreciated and will help keep the awesome work of The Food Chain going strong.
