Story
It's less than a month now before I go to Uganda.
On December 1st 2010 I’m joining a team of 8 people from Toxteth churches on a trip to Kumi in Uganda for 10 days to join in with Kumifest.
The vision for the Kumifest is that Christians from all over Kumi Diocese in Uganda will gather together. We plan to help provide Christian teaching in the mornings and evenings, and to carry out outreach projects in the town of Kumi during the afternoons. This will include a general clean up of the town, painting schools and shops, as well as providing sports activities for young people and distributing blankets and mosquito nets to local hospitals, health centres and prisons..
The total cost of this project is around £25 000. The Ugandan churches plan to raise £5000, leaving a further £20 000 for us to raise. We've done various events, including sponsored walks, auctions and raffles and even a sponsored run up the Cathedral tower (I couldn't get a day off for that one - shame!)
If you feel you would like to contribute towards the project that would be brilliant.
£4 would pay for one Ugandan delegate to attend Kumifest.
£10 would buy a blanket and mosquito net for one person.
£200 would buy enough paint to paint one school.
Please get in touch if you have any more questions
Thanks,
Rachel
