The route starts in the UK at the premises of the main sponsor, Knorr Bremse, in Melksham, Wiltshire. The route will pass through Winchester and Chandlers Ford where further riders will join the group and cycle to Portsmouth to take an overnight ferry to France. The route continues in a generally south easterly direction stopping for a further 8 nights in towns along the way, finally arriving in Monte Carlo and then staying in Nice on the ninth night before flying home from Nice on 7 September.
