Story

Why have I decided to fundraise for Yorkhill?

Since the hour I was born I have been a patient at 'Yorkhill Children's Hospital.' If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be a day old never mind make it all the way to 17 years of age. This year is my last ever year being an official patient as i'm now becoming an adult and can no longer attend Yorkhill. I have such adoration for each and every single doctor, nurse and surgeon that walk the wards each and every day tending to thousands upon thousands of children that enter the secure doors of Yorkhill hospital. These extremly skilled human beings are superheroes in the eyes of thousands.

I've spent a large majority of my young life in the hands of their care. Countless life saving surgerys, tests and check ups have I been given courtesy of them. They literally saved my life and I simply can't express my gratidude. I adore them and I simply want to give them something back. A goodbye gift, if you will.

What are you doing to raise money?

"1. vlog

A video log. A journalistic video documentation on the web of a person's life, thoughts, opinions, and interests.

A vlog can be topical and timeless, instructional and entertaining. The main thread is trying to communicate on a personal level with your audience."

When someone says "Fundraising" we automoatically think "Back packing!" OR "Sponsored Cycle!" OR "Bake Sale!"...Now, don't get me wrong. Those ways of fundraising are flawless and almost always very succesful. Infact, they're probably the most easiest and pratical way to raise for a charity. But then there's me, student of the creative arts (*media*) wanting to push the boundries of fundrasing to a platform for todays generation (urgh students, right? what they like.)
My fundraiser involves;
A camera.
One small 17 year old girl (thats me btw*) (*by the way)
And two months of my arguably exciting life.

From the 31st of October 2013 untill the 31st of December 2013 I will vlog (keep a video diary) of my life EVERY SINGLE DAY.
"How's that a challange!?" I hear you hollar.
Well, my friend. I'll have to video my general life every single day, choose and edit footage from each day for two whole months without missing one single day. If I miss a single day, I fail.
Now: I can't promise these videos will be exciting. I can't assure they will be life changing. But I can I promise there will be one every single day regardless.
Now raise your hands if you watch Big Brother? Towie? Xfactor? Geordie Shore?...That's a lot of hands...(not judging you, I swear!) but i'm sure you can take 5 minutes out of your night to watch little ol' me!
