Story

Hey guys,

I’m going to be running the Edinburgh Marathon on 23rd May 2010 to raise money for a Charity very close to my heart called Myeloma UK. I would appreciate any donations you could make to help me with my fundraising attempts.

I’ll be beginning my 26 mile run in Edinburgh City Centre, running in memory of my dad who I lost to multiple Myeloma 4 years ago.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the bone marrow which can result in excessive damage to bones.

After receiving a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, the average survival rate is three years. There are nearly 4,000 new cases per year in the UK. Since the precise cause is unknown, it's not possible to prevent multiple myeloma and there's no cure.

Myeloma UK work with patients, carers and family members, to help them cope with everything a diagnosis of myeloma brings and aim to ensure patients have access to and receive the best possible treatment and care when they need it.

Please help me raise as much as possible to help support those affected by myeloma by donating now.

Thank you
