Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Six brave members of staff from Postcode Anywhere have decided to take on what could be the biggest challenge of their lives so far, helping hundreds of young people across the UK to turn their lives around.

My team and I will be spending three memorable days crossing the West Country from coast to coast to raise vital funds for the UK’s leading youth charity, The Prince’s Trust.

In The Prince’s Trust’s Wild UK Challenge, sponsored by Capgemini, will start beside the Atlantic Coast at Porlock Bay in North Somerset, hike across Exmoor, kayak around Lake Wimbleball and cycle through Devon, ending their journey with a sea swim on the South Coast of Devon. Enduring a gruelling eight hours of physical activity each day, we will be competing against other teams to be the first to cross the finish line on Exmouth Beach.

The Capgemini Wild UK Challenge for The Prince’s Trust takes place from 4–6 September 2009. Each team member needs to raise at least £800 in sponsorship which could help one young person to completely turn their life around by enabling them to take part in Team, the Trust’s 12-week self development programme aimed at getting them into work, education, or training.

I'm pretty excited about this.  As many of you will know, I'm not the fittest person in the world, so it's going to be tough to train up to a level where I can cope with the strain, but I'm determined to get there.  With your help, the more money I can raise, the more motivated I will be to succeed.

I need to raise £800, and my company Postcode Anywhere has kindly agreed to sponsor me for the first £400.  This £400 is more than enough to cover the cost to the Prince's Trust for putting on the event, so you can be sure that all of the extra sponsorship you can give will go directly to the Prince's Trust.  (Just Giving will make an administration charge of 5%.)

Further information about The Prince’s Trust is available at http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/ or on 0800 842 842.
