Story
Firstly Thank You for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and reading about my run and chosen charity.
After saying for the last 20+ years that I'd never run and more recently that I would only do a 10K race, I am now going to attempt to do my 1st marathon! I have been training quite hard to get ready for the day, with my main aim to enjoy(?) the run!!
I'm not normally a person to ask for sponsorship but to make me run harder!(hope it's not going to be that much harder than the training) I have decided to raise some sponsorship and my chosen charity is the Alexander Devine Children's Cancer Trust who are working to build Berkshire’s first, and much needed, children’s hospice. So far the charity has raised over £680,000, but still have a way to go as they need to raise another £1 million to commence building. In the meantime they have funded a community paediatric palliative care nurse, who is now supporting local children with life limiting conditions, and their families, in their own homes.
I was introduced to this charity by a friend and was very touched by the help that a facility such as this could give to young children and their families.
I would be very thankful for any sponsorship that you may wish to give - remember, the more I raise the more pressure I'll have on the day to complete the run!!
Thank you!
