Story
by the time the Yorkshire marathon comes around I might be a Dad....now there's a frightening thought!
Our Journey up to now has been full of excitement knowing that our baby will have (and has had) the best care that is possible to ensure his or her safe arrival into this world. Open Arms is a reminder to us of how lucky we are. Many of the babies that Open Arms cares for are orphaned due to poor maternal health, and completely avoidable situations. There are currently about 69 babies in the infant care programme at Open Arms, 81 toddlers in Harrogate House, and 30 in foster care. Each child receives love, shelter, food and medical care every day, helping them to grow strong and nourished, and giving them the best chance in life. I am running the Yorkshire Marathon to help raise money for this brilliant organisation. As you may know Open Arms is run by Emmas Dad, and you can be sure that the money raised really will go towards helping give these children a real second chance. I have visited open arms twice and have been struck by the joy and warmth that you feel, a complete contrast to how you would imagine an orphanage to be!
Despite having run a marathon before, There is a strong chance that this will be my first run on very little sleep! so please help me raise some money for the children of Open Arms. Just £3 will buy lifesaving high protein food that can literally save a life.
