Story
Dear friends,
Yes, I know I said I would get it out of my system with the London marathon in April... but it turns out I’m a masochist. Having failed to beat the elusive four-hour mark, I’m setting off for number three.
For a second time the lovely people at Venice in Peril have invited me to run the Venice marathon on 24 October to raise money to help them restore the city’s beautiful buildings, monuments and works of art. Each year the floods get worse and Venice’s extraordinary buildings continue to erode.
For the past forty years Venice in Peril has helped fund the restoration of the city’s historic architectural and artistic heritage. Much of their work still goes into preserving this magical but environmentally fragile city.
I would be extremely grateful if you could dig deep and donate now to stop this incredible city being destroyed by the water that makes it so unique.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
My sincere thanks in advance,
Wish me luck,
Richard
