Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When Peter, my father, was diagnosed with myeloma initially he was thought unlikely to survive beyond a matter of days.  Although there is no cure for this cancer Peter, with the assistance of his doctors and nurses and the constant care of his wife Joan, fought the cancer for 4 years.  Prior to the diagnosis he was a keen gardener, walker, runner and swimmer.  I am not as active an individual as Peter.  However, I felt compelled to do something to repay the kindness and the efforts expended upon Peter's care by all who came into contact with him.   As I was unable to gather enough support for a sponsored TV watching session  in the comfort of my own home I was persuaded to run for charity.  I was assured the course of the Great North Run was flat and easy so I quickly volunteered.  As I have discovered the true nature of the course is rather different I am taking rather more care with my training.

I want to raise as much money as possible for Myeloma UK.   Please make a donation as every pound will help in finding a cure and help others overcome this cancer.
