Event: Virgin London Marathon 2010
We fund research and purchase equipment to support patients and staff at the BHOC.

Story

On 25th April I'll be running the London Marathon. In order to help spur me on (and to justify all the early morning runs) I'll be raising money for the Friends of Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre

The Friends have been important in helping the centre to be a leading and innovative centre, making life for patients more interesting and comfortable. They have three main aims: supporting patients, supporting innovation and supporting research. Over the years they have bought many scientific, technical and nursing items, and have funded amenities which contribute towards the comfort of patients.

Fundraising is ongoing, as a large proportion of the investment income is already committed and new equipment is always needed.

Any money that I can raise will make a direct impact to the comfort of the patients so any contribution is greatfully appreciated.

About the charity

Our aim is to help patients and staff by purchasing equipment, funding research, improving the hospital's environment. We have pledged to purchase a Surface Guided Radiotherapy System for the Centre. This will keep the Centre at the leading edge of world-class radiotherapy.
