Story

First, thank you to all those who donated when I signed up and trained for the Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon. As you may well know I had to pull out with reactive tendonitus, but am now sufficiently recovered and have signed up for another event. All previous donations have been transferred to this page under funds 'raised offline'.

Rapidly following on from my victory in the 75-metre sprint at Bushy Hill Junior School in 1996, the next event I have chosen to run is the New Forest Half Marathon on 25 September 2011.

My chosen charity is the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which offers support to sufferers of the auto-immune disease — a cause close to me as my mum is afflicted by it.

Additionally, for the last month of training I have grown a beard, along with Matt Tuffin and Jason Lammie, who are also running the race with me. We feel this will give us the 'Forrest Gump' effect – if it worked in a film, it'll work in real life, right?
