To
raise money for my friend Mani on the 29th I'll be attempting the
Ridgeway
Challenge an 85 miles run along a 5000 year old trackway
through the Chiltern Hills and North Wessex Downs.
Below
are some word from Mani that shows the fight she has shown.
My
name is Mani Coulter, and I was initially diagnosed with breast
cancer in November 2002, at the age of 29 and just a few months after
giving birth to my daughter, Mya. I immediately underwent a course of
chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and radiotherapy to be in remission.
Just
over a year later, in January 2005, I was diagnosed with aggressive
secondary breast cancer. I was also diagnosed with inflammatory
breast cancer (IBC). Since then I have had numerous cycles of
chemotherapy and other cancer drugs.
The
name “Make My Mummy Better” was chosen for my campaign
because it is something that my daughter says. Whenever she makes a
wish or says a prayer, she always says that she has wished for or
asked God to “Make my mummy better.” I feel that my strength and
fight for survival comes from being Mya’s mum.
I
hope that once I have beaten this disease I will be able to help
others in my situation that need to raise funds to help pay for their
treatment.
