Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been asked recently by the East Lancashire Hospice, who have an annual place for a runner at the Virgin London Marathon, to run the race on their behalf. These hotly contested tickets are often hard to come by but, this year, the Hospice has struggled to find anyone to take the place, an indication that perhaps it is proving hard to raise a well-meaning amount of money in these tough economic times. I had no second thoughts and, despite not being able to run for some time (due to a knee problem) am determined to run the marathon and raise as much as possible for this worthwhile charity.
The East Lancashire Hospice is an incredible charity helping families who have a loved one with life limiting illnesses. "A life limiting or life threatening illness can be very hard to come to terms with and that is why we are here. We provide specialist care, supportive care and end of life care for people and their families both at the hospice and at home. Here everyone is special, whether patients come to us or we go to them."
My challenge here is two-fold, one challenge is to overcome my knee injury in the right way to allow me run the marathon successfully. The second is to raise a meaningful amount of money. If you are able to help me in the support for this amazing charity it would be most appreciated.
