Story

As many of you may know, my Daughter Lois suffers from a rare condition known as Niemann-Pick Type C.  This means that she is now confined to a wheel chair and requires specialist help.  One of the organisations that provides Lois and our family with support is Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough.  They are a wonderful organisation without whom the lives of many children and their families would be significantly more difficult.  For more information see http://www.rainbows.co.uk/the-hospice/

Rainbows have helped us no end with support and respite care for Lois and it is for this reason I would like to give something back.

In April 2011, I'll be running the London marathon to raise money to help Rainbows in their fundraising.  Those that know me will understand that this is not something I've ever done before so your support will greatly assist with the motivation needed for my training.  So please help where you can with support for Rainbows and motivation for me.

Your donations will go to help Rainbows continue to support families with caring for young children in very difficult times.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, we brighten the short lives of babies, children and young people who come to Rainbows. We want them to have fun and make special memories. We are also here to support their loved ones through the most difficult times of their lives.
