My One Million Metre challenge for PSPA
My wife Anne was diagnosed with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) in 2005, so I decided to take on thIS challenge as part of the associations ‘Million to Beat PSP’ campaign, with a personal fundraising target of £5,000.
I spend the majority of my time caring for my wife and have so far managed to cycle over 300,000 metres using the roads of Merseyside and Lancashire. I started his goal in June and hope to complete it by the end of July.
"Seven years ago the only PSP I was aware of was a game console which gave millions of people pleasure. I soon found out when my wife was diagnosed that there was another PSP. This PSP is the complete opposite and it denies the sufferer of vital bodily functions, and makes them totally dependent on their carers. I am doing this to raise the vital funds needed to help the charity find a cure and prevent this devastating disease occurring to others.”
