Story
On June 13th 2015 my youngest son, Jasper, was born. He was experiencing complications with his breathing and was rapidly taken to intensive care. In the first hour of his life he suffered an unexplained grade 4 brain haemorrhage.
He was taken that night to Gt Ormond Street Hospital and operated on by the Neuro surgeons who saved his life. 48hrs following his first surgery it transpired that he had to have a further operation as the initial intervention was insufficient to release the pressure and drain the fluid from the bleed. We then had an agonising 5 day wait to see if he would sufficiently recover and breath without the aid of a ventilator, the little fighter made it through the first test of his tenacity but sadly there were many more to come over the following 4 month stay.
Gemma, and I are indebted to the teams of people at Gt Ormond st who saved Jaspers life and cared for him over this critical period and will continue to do so throughout his childhood.
I have decided to ride the 116 mile overnight Dunwich Dynamo, 16th July just 2 weeks time, from London Fields, Hackney to Dunwich in Suffolk to raise money for this incredible Children's hospital.
Without their world class skill and care, we may have had a very different outcome.
I would be item ally grateful if you could give generously to this remarkable place.
Thank you
Rohan
