Story

I'm participating in Androscoggin's Hike for Hospice to show my support for the basic human right of hospice care.

Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice ensures that everyone receives the care they need at the most vulnerable times of their lives, regardless of their ability to pay for this important care.

This walk is about awareness, but it is also about raising critical funds to make sure our neighbors are taken care of without financial worry; so they can fully live the last moments of their lives without worry.

If you are a friend or family member of mine, I ask your support of "ME" in this endeavor.  Any amount is helpful; help me reach my goal and to make a difference.  I ask that you share this page in your social media pages to help me bring hospice care awareness.

If you are a member of my community, I implore you to help me in any way that you can.  We could be raising funds for your loved one, your friend, or your neighbor.

If you are not a member of my community, assist a hospice organization in your area.  Find out how you can help with your time or a donation.  But, you can still support me because you are awesome and I am awesome!  It just works!

And finally, I am devoting my walk in Hike For Hospice to my Mother.  When I used to go on my daily walks, I would send photos and fun jokes to my Mom as I walked.  She would laugh and share in my success with excitement.

Since Mom passed in August of 2020, I have walked weekly, but never daily as I once had when she was alive.  So this walk is personal.  It is about the important work of hospice care, but it is also about me getting back out there again and making Mom proud.  I need to walk daily again.

I was blessed with a wonderful family and mother.  I was blessed that my Mom passed in relative peacefulness, and I am now blessed to be able to walk in her name and do something good for our community.  I am sure Mom will be walking with me, so I hope you will support me with a donation, or join the team and walk as well.

Thank you in advance for your donation.  I am grateful that you will support the important care Hospice brings to us all.  And to be selfish, I am appreciative that you support me in this effort.
