There is so much kindness on our beautiful planet, where sadly, as we are all too aware, there is also so much inhumanity,.conflict and destruction.   At a time when some of us can hardly bear to look at or listen to the news anymore, thank goodness there are still so many who are prepared to face head on the most difficult, heartbreaking and often dangerous situations, in order to help those in need.

The ICRC is the largest humanitarian network in the world - The International Red Cross and The Red Crescent Movement, which has more than 100 million volunteers across the globe.  95.5% of donations are used directly for ICRC’s work in the field.  Much work has been done by the organisation to help in many countries during the Covid pandemic and its current key operations are, as one would expect, in Ukraine, Yemen, Syria, Sahel, Afghanistan and Ethiopia.

The concert is an initiative by Latin American Harpist and Composer, Ricardo Garcia-Curbelo, in collaboration with Classical Guitarist, Adrian Azuelo and St Andrew’s Church Leytonstone, who have welcomed the idea and kindly given us their space and help with the organisation of the event.

Grano de Arena was the title Ricardo first used in 2001, for a concert in St James’s Church Piccadilly for the charity, Children of the Andes. Performing with him for the event were Adrian and fellow superb guitarist, David Caswell, who unfortunately is unable to join his friends this time.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the vital work of the ICRC in these very troubled and troubling times.  Those who are unable to attend, but who would nonetheless like to donate, may do so on this page.,  Many thanks!

Ricardo, Adrian, Rosie and the St Andrew"s Church team.
