Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the end of last year I took up pole dancing as a way to increase my strength and find some form of dance to continue with after graduation. As I have now returned to do a masters, I wanted to push myself further by entering the pole dancing competition even though I haven't been doing it for long. Fingers crossed I don't fall off on the day.
On Sunday the 15th of March I will be competing in the beginners category of the University Pole Stars Competition where students from around the country will get together to fundraise for Guide Dogs and show off their routines.
Guide Dogs is one of NTU's chosen charity's this year and with good reason.
Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is there to make sure they don't lose their freedom as well.
Guide Dogs provides a range of mobility services and works to break down barriers so that blind and partially sighted people can get out and about on their own terms. It costs Guide Dogs around £50,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement. However, the Guide Dog service receives no government funding.
That is why fundraising events like these are so important to the charity's survival. Please consider donating, even if it is just a few pounds. All donations are very much appreciated.
