Hi, I'm Ross Dimmock, a Personal trainer from Croydon. I am trying to Raise some money for Mind Croydon to put towards their project of making people more aware of Mental illness. Part of the project is helping people rebuild their lives after an episode of illness. Part of this is helping them into sports and group activities, which are proven to help general health, well being and also a good help for depression.
After leaving the forces in 2003 I had some personal experience with Mental health as I was Diagnosed with Bi-polar Disorder. This Charity is a good one for me because i truly feel that it can have a very positive impact on people, Giving them positivity and a new lease of confidence and life.
On the 23rd of febuary 2010 i will travel to WMC camp Lamai in Koh Samui Thailand. (This is a Muay Thai Boxing gym) I will return home on the 23rd of march .
During my stay here i will train twice a day, running and a personal lesson in the morning then an intense group class in the late afternoon. At the end of my stay before my return to the UK i will compete in a Competion Bout.
This is a daunting but exciting prospect for me as i have not had a full contact match to date. I will keep all who Donate posted with video clips and pictures of the training and final bout.
Please Donate any thing you can as I have never been invovled with a charity event before and want to generate as much support for this cause as possible, as it is so close to my heart.
I will be putting my all into that month.
