We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

I've wanted to swim The English Channel for some time now and thought that a relay race would give me an insight to the experience.

On August 8th 2009 I was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes. So swimming the Channel as part of a relay team on behalf of Diabetes UK is my place to start. On the 1st anniversary of being diagnosed I will be joining a team of five other like minded people to attempt to swim across the Channel. There will be two other teams joining us in their attempt at the same.

Having type 1 Diabetes means I now do around 5 - 10 blood tests a day and inject myself with insulin four times a day.

I really hope you will all help me reach the target I have set myself and help Diabetes UK to come a step closer to a cure for the millions of people in the UK alone who have diabetes

There have been monumental advances in the research over the years and with our help they will continue to happen.

Thanks a million

Ross
