Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those who dont know me, when I was 8 years old my brother, Liam Fairhurst, who was 10 at the time, was diagnosed with cancer. This event turned our world upside down, but instead of feeling sorry for himself Liam decided to help others in his situation, despite needing help himself. On numerous occasions the doctor's told Liam he had little time left, but Liam kept battaling through until he sadly lost his battle on the 30th June, 2009. Liam had raised an astonoshing £340,000. On that day I made Liam a promise and that promise was to continue his fundraising. In 2010 aged just 12 I cycled the length of britain and to date I have raised over £65,000 for childrens cancer charities. And this year I am raising money for A charity I, and my family, have set up. The Liam Fairhurst Foundation. The challenge in itself is nothing compared to the pain many of the young people the charity help go through.
On the 30th June 2012 (marking the 3 year anniversary of Liam's passing) I will be rowing the channel in the Grafton Centre Cambridge. The row is over 21 miles and many other people across the UK will be participating in what will be a hard challenge. We hope to raise over £20,000 nationwide and hopefully my row will play a part in it.
