Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the 'Walk for Jakey' JustGiving page.
As you're all aware David Jacob passed away last year (2018) and in doing so left a void in all of our lives. During his last days David and his family were so grateful for the support they received from the Isabel Hospice, so it is only fitting we combine our upcoming walk in his memory with a concerted effort to help raise funds in order that the Hospice can carry on their work for others.
It really is a win win situation, we get to smile as we recollect and rejoice his wonderful and influential life and the Hospice gets to continue to help others, so that they too can be made as comfortable as possible in their final days.
It costs about 720 pounds a day for the Hospice to operate their 'Hospice at Home' service - allowing carers to visit people in their own home and surroundings, providing specialist knowledge, comfort and expert advice.
So we are raising money for this fabulous service .... one day at a time. That means our initial target is 720 pounds, and hopefully we can turn one day into many ....
We also hope you can join us on Sunday June 30 for a leisurely walk through Hamstead Heath followed by some lunch and time to recall fond memories of Jakey with his friends and family.
Further details of the walk will be updated on this page in the coming weeks, and you can also email Chris or Roy on chris.camwell@lwb.org.au or reyoung71@btinternet.com
You can also keep in touch about more information, updates and memories of David and the upcoming walk at our Facebook page which can be found at https://m.facebook.com/groups/540168216395726?ref=share
