Story
Hello
My name is Roy Mitchell - and apparently I am the “poster boy” for this fundraising for RAD.
How this came about is a bit of a mystery to me, (as are a number of things). It appears that I caught a dose of this thing called dementia. But personally I would call it something else, but I am not allowed to write it here.
So - who am I?
As poster boys/girls go, I am not much of a catch, age 67, bald, demented and newly married. Despite the restraints dementia can bring, I am still a reasonably positive person. On the bright side - I am still alive, still functioning as a relatively normal human being, and still married to my bride of 12 weeks, despite no one thinking it would last.
Apparently a lot of positive things are happening in the dementia world, and this time next year I might not be a millionaire - but there is now hope with the development of new drugs - I might actually still be functioning as a relatively “normal” human being. Normal of course being subjective.
For people like me having hope of that “normal” life - money is required to fund research for a cure.
So if you have money to spare, win the lottery, find 50p down the back of the couch - please help me raise money for the research to continue.
Kirsty and I thank you all for your continued love and support.
