We raise money for children with cancer to improve their quality of life

Story

We are Rory Collins and Toby Guest, two 13 year olds who are running for our mate Todd Hawkins and the Children with Cancer Fund in the Junior Great North Run on Saturday 19th September 2009.  Todd has a rare bone cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma which was diagnosed on Christmas Eve in 2008.  We want to do something to raise awareness and funds for a local charity which has been set up to help out children like Todd. Because he is our mate and we have grown up together we will on the day be wearing his name on our backs so that in effect he is taking part with us.  Although we've got paper sponsor forms in the shops in Herstmonceux we've set up this page so that you can donate with debit/credit cards.  Our school, Heathfield Community College is supporting us by putting a news item on their website.    Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, please support us as it all helps.

Update....................

We did it!!  Here is a photo with our support team!  We finished with times of 17.45 and 17.46 minutes. We had a fantastic time and we kept in touch with Todd and his mum Keeley all through the weekend.  We will let everyone know how much we raised altogether very soon. Thanks for all the messages of support and good luck

25/9/09- To Morgan Ashurst who are doing building work at Heathfield Community College. We had no idea that you were going to make this huge donation, it's fantastic! Thank you so much.

About the charity

CWCF was set up in 1998 by Ursula & Chris Downton with Kirsty & James Denny. Now, with the help of other friends and family, we still go out having fun raising funds to grant wishes to families that live in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and who have children that have been diagnosed with cancer.
