I have been wanting to do something for Alzeimer's Scotland for a while now as it is a charity that is very close to my heart.

For those of you that don't know, I lost my father to this disease several years before his eventual death in 2008, so I know how debilitating this illness can be on not only the sufferer, but those around them. As such, I have decided to do a parachute jump in order to raise funds for this incredibly worthwhile cause.

Whilst I appreciate that this does not take as much commitment as something like running a marathon, those of you who know me will know that heights is my single biggest fear (My knees start knocking even when I climb a ladder!) So to jump from 13,000 feet (2 & 1/2 miles) free-falling the first 6000 feet at a speed of 120mph, has already started to make me feel queasy!!!
