At SBN we are fortunate as a company to sometimes make a decision to waive our normal fee and in return we respectfully ask clients to help make a difference by donating to our chosen charity for the year.

The Wave Project, is a national charity that helps children and young people struggling with their mental health, by using surf therapy, which we think is a unique and novel approach that really does work.

The roots of these issues can be complex and numerous, with some young people having suffered bereavement, isolation, domestic violence, negative experiences whilst in the care system, parental drug misuse, sexual exploitation and many more distressing scenarios. 

The Wave Project combines the therapeutic elements of the ocean with the adventure of surfing and a supportive culture of acceptance to help children do things they never thought possible. 

That’s why the young people they work with enjoy higher self-esteem, reduced anxiety, better trust and friendships and overall more positive futures.

Here are some examples as to where your kind donations will be spent:

•    £180:  Specially adapted child’s wetsuit for children with physical disabilities – for example extra zips to make getting into the wetsuit easier and pain-free

•    £300:  The cost of a surf board for use in our surf therapy program

•    £700 – the cost of putting a child through a 6 week surf therapy program
