On the 4th December I will be travelling as a volunteer with Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) to Burkina Faso, Africa for 2 weeks.  I will be working as part of a team from the UK to help provide optical care to people living in areas with limited eyecare services.  Work will involve providing eye examinations, issuing spectacles and raising awareness.  We will also be travelling with another charity, ORBIS, who can perform eye surgery such as cataract operations.

It costs VAO approximately £1500 to send a volunteer on a project.  I am funding half of this cost myself but would love to raise more to help towards the total.  Therefore I would be grateful for any contributions from customers of Greenslades, friends and family!  I took part in a half marathon around the Eden Project in Cornwall on the 10th Octoberto help raise funds.  After 2 hours and 7 minutes I made it round the course and celebrated with a Double Decker - v.good!
