Story
What the hell are you up to now we hear you cry?! I've now joined forces with a fellow "shire horse" and between us we've decided to run a local 10K event on 10 October 2010.
Whilst not a specific fund raising event, we have been inspired to raise funds by 11 year old Josh, the son of a local family, who is currently putting up the fight of his life in Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Our chosen cause, "The Sick Children's Trust", is a charity close to the heart of Josh's family. The charity's mission is to provide high quality 'Home from Home' accommodation for families whose children are receiving vital hospital treatment for serious illness. It promotes the child's recovery and supports the well being of the family as a whole.
As both of us seem to have been built for comfort rather than speed, you will be well aware that this is no mean feat for the pair of us!!! However we are taking this challenge VERY seriously and can regularly be seen pounding the local streets, puffing and panting with beetroot faces. We are determined to cross the line with dignity, knowing we actually completed the challenge, and pride at having raised money for this worthy charity.
Any donation, however small, will be appreciated and will certainly make a difference.
Thanking you in advance
Denise and Sally
