Myself and a friend from Exeter University Canoe Club, Ashley Winterbottom are training to compete in the Devizes to Westminster ultra-endurance canoe marathon at Easter 2013. The event involves paddling 125 miles from Devizes Wharf to Westminster Bridge in London with 77 portages in under 30 hours straight. We are aiming to win the university challenge cup, an award for the fastest university team and so our target time is 22 hours.

The "DW" as it is known, requires at least 6 months of training so we're already preparing hard and training every week (our training involves getting out on the water in the K2, running and training in the gym).
