I am Mother of April Bremner almost 10. April is a little girl who is the brightest star to all who love her. April has had a very difficult and often painful childhood which has at times taken her shine away from her. Every time she makes progress and her health improves her sparkle shines more than ever before. We want to help keep her bright and sparkly, and help her reach her full-potential. The Scottish Society for Autism aims to help every person on the Autism Spectrum reach their full potential.

To obtain the services from The Scottish Society of Autism, the Scottish Autistic community need the support of their Local Authority.  Autism specific resources are essential for our community. April attends their part-time residential school. She is happy to attend, has made friends and has a week of fullfilling activities as well as one-one support in an environment that is taylor fitted to her needs. Her quality of life is improving all the time and the Society have contributed to this enormously by their very close collaboration with health and social sevices. The Society have projects such as respite, day care and supported accomodation for young people and adults on the Autism Spectrum. April's School is the only one of its kind in Scotland. I want to give back something for all of the professional but warm and respectful treatment that April has received from the Society. Well, this Pyjama shop in Tesco Extra , Kingsway Dundee, will be a challenge for April as going shopping for her is an enigma! We will also have her 3 year old brother Frankie with us. April has different ways of doing things, ie, she might just open a yogurt and eat it quickly. Before I notice she is half way through, as she really does'nt think it nessessary to wait till we get to the checkout. If you have something in your trolley that interests April she might, quick as a flash, take it out of your trolley to inspect it and throw it back in unless she likes it so much she has opened it.  April may also try to skip the que, so watch out!!

Thankyou for your donation, our kids need these services, I wish there were more all over Scotland so every child with Autism had more options available to them.
