Thank you everyone for your generosity xxx

My brother David was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in May 2011 aged 52 a family man working as a security guard when he was told that he had about 8 months left to live. He was told there is no specific cause, there is no treatment and no cure – he had been given a death sentence where he would have to watch his body crumble, he would lose the ability to speak, and to eat and drink.  David has lived with this horrific disease now for 2 ½ years, he is a prisoner in his own body with only his mind tortured by the hell of not even being able to scratch his nose, and ultimately what lies ahead.  He is totally dependent on 24 hour care to enable his basic needs to be met – to keep him safe, comfortable and to offer reassurance of the fear that he may choke to death or die alone.

The one thing he still has is his wonderful smile and his wicked sense of humour and the inner strength of the love of his family that gives him the will to keep living.

Nobody deserves to suffer the evils of this horrendous disease that takes no prisoners and it can happen to anyone at any time, devastating the lives of the suffer and their loved ones.

I am doing this skydive to raise much needed awareness and to raise funds in the hope that one day soon a cure can be found.
