Taking time away from my busy work schedule and leaving Rob to look after the children (as well as keep the house tidy!) is a big enough challenge for me!

However, in order to raise money for ill and disadvantaged children, I am taking part in an even bigger challenge - hiking through the Arabian Desert in Jordan.

Sef, Amalia and I are going out of our comfort zone and are joining the Let’s Trek for Children Jordan Challenge to support the work of four of the UK’s children’s charities: Barnardo’s, Kith & Kids, Dreams Come True and MedEquip4Kids.

The journey will begin at the lowest point of the earth, the Dead Sea and after five days of hiking over rough terrain and camping in Bedouin tents, the group will complete it's challenge in the ancient red rock city of Petra.

We each need to raise a minimum of £2,500 in sponsorship funds. We are paying all our own personal travel expenses so the money donated to me will go directly to the charities mentioned. It is hoped that the event will raise more than £50,000 in total – money that will make a real difference.
