Hi family and friends! As many of you know due to my constant talking, I am on the speech and debate team at Harper College. I have competed a whopping 7 different events while on the team and have loved every single one of them. I came to Harper undecided and scared to the world around me. Once I joined the speech and debate team on campus it has forever changed me. I am more outspoken about my opinions. I am more confident in myself, and less insecure. I even have my lifelong friendships that I would not have met with out being on the team.

Every year, collegiate forensics teams from around the nation gather together at several national tournaments. This year, the Harper Hawks Speech & Debate team will attend the Phi Rho Pi National Tournament in Albuquerque New Mexico! Last year, I attended Phi Rho Pi and it was an unforgettable experience full of adventure, new opportunities and life long memories. With your help, we can attend this event for a chance to flex their acting, oration, and argumentation skills! Your support is vital to the end of our season.

Speech and debate has given me an outlet to share my personal beliefs and have a community of friends forever. I am forever grateful for my team, alumni and coaches. As one of the top three forensics teams in Illinois, we have a good shot at taking home some impressive accolades.
