Story

“Some of you may know that our son Barnaby was diagnosed post-natally with Down Syndrome (DS) in September last year. PADS have provided us with invaluable support since his arrival. They offer endless advice and DS-specific resources such as; specialist physiotherapy input, bladder & bowel support, 1:1 & group counselling for parents, specialist breastfeeding support, DS-specific feeding & weaning advice, visual impairment advice from a lead optometrist in the field of DS, makaton training, educational learning & development support, and a “heart buddy” system to support families of babies born with congenital heart defects. They also provide training to universities, maternity services and health professionals across the country. PADS are an absolute lifeline for so many families and nearly everything they provide is either free or heavily subsidised by the charity.

PADS have really helped us to navigate Barnaby’s medical problems, to focus on the positives and to find our feet on this new path as a family.

We sincerely hope you will join us in supporting this very special charity, and in doing so celebrate people with Down Syndrome from all around the world.

Thank you very much.

From Barnaby and the rest of the Jones family. X”
