It's all over and I finished in a respectable 2:12:36, 3 minutes slower than last year but it was very hot and I don't remember quite so many hills!!
We had a good start with a gradual up hill for 2 miles turning off at the Rising sun and off into the forest, it looked amazing with hazy views and a cool breeze which kept us from over heating. Then came the real hills and the heat of the day, started to feel the burn around 9 miles but the jelly babies at 10 miles gave us a bit of a sugar kick.
It was the last 2 miles that I felt were really hard (the sugar kick had gone) but managed to push the last point one to cross the line in 2:12:36
Thank you to everyone at the water stations (Jo, Jasmine, Susan) and to those cheering us on at the finish.
This week I should know if I have a place in the London Marathon - watch this space!!
Thank you all for your kind donations.
Keep smiling
Sarah
