Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 24th October I will be attempting to complete the Great South Run.  Pre-children this would have been a walk in the park, however 3x9 months of being the size of a small whale, sleep deprivation and lack of training time now make it somewhat more of a challenge.

I wasn't going to raise money for charity, partly through laziness but also as I'm terrible at asking people, but following the very sad and unexpected death of my father-in-law in August I'd like to ask those who are interested and can spare some pennies to sponsor me and raise money for the Keswick Mountain Rescue team.

Mel's latest passion was walking, and it was his plan to climb all the Munros in the UK.  Sadly this was not to be, as halfway up Scafell Pike he had a fatal heart attack.  The Mountain rescue team were unable to help Mel, but they did escort his friend back down the mountain.  Subsequently i've been looking into all the work the team do, and by donating money perhaps we'll be able to help others who share the same passion as Mel.
