Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sadly, my beautiful dog Lucy, who had been with me for many years, passed away suddenly on the 24th January 2010. Despite her not so good start in life, she enjoyed every minute of it once rescued and always made the best of everything she had. She came back with me from Cyprus in 2002 where I had found her the year before in the mountains having been abandoned and close to death. No-one ever would have thought that such a skinny/dirty and frightened mess could ever have turned out the way she did, with absolutely bags of personality and so much love to give. I will miss her, as will everyone else who loved her, immensely.
So I have decided, albeit late, to run the Bath Half Marathon on the 7th March 2010, with a little less than 4 weeks to prepare now ! I am doing this in memory of Lucy and would like my target donated to the Bath Cats and Dogs Home which seems more than fitting. Interestingly, this is where Carl and his mates at Uni spent many a Sunday afternoon walking the dogs!
Bath Cats and Dogs Home is a registered charity based at Claverton Down, near the University of Bath. They are one of the largest re-homing centres in the UK with over 2,000 unwanted cats, dogs and small animals relying upon them every year. They also pride themselves on a strict non-destruction policy and aim to find every single animal a new loving home, no matter how long this may take.Donating through Thanks Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now in memory of Lucy and for all those animals still waiting for a loving home.
Thanks
