We support and empower people to improve mental health and wellbeing

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I support the work of Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind because I have seen, first-hand, the real difference the charity has made to the lives of people with mental health problems living in my area, having been a volunteer for the charity for several years.

Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind provides social, emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Every year, 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem. Despite this, hundreds of thousands of people still struggle to get the support they need, are still unable to access the services that could change their lives, and are still facing prejudice and misunderstanding. A startling proportion of those people live within the catchment area of Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind.

I decided to embark on this 'ultra distance' challenge, which will involve my walking 100km (62.1 miles) continuously, through the day and night, for 20-30 hours, to provide much needed funds to help Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Mind continue to do what they do best.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving-they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So, please dig deep and donate now!

Thank you x
