My mum was cruelly taken away from us this July having endured the effects of Alzheimer's for over three years. The family felt helpless apart from providing care there was very little we could do to help cure her condition. I am running my first race of this kind in aid of the Alzheimer's Society who need funds for their vital work in providing care to those affected by all types of dementia and providing support to the family and carers of sufferers and raising the profile and awareness of the impact of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
