<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #365f91; mso-themecolor: accent1; mso-themeshade: 191;"><span style="font-size: small;">Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I'm off to Kathmandu at the end of Feb’ 2011 to help an orphanage, aptly named <strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Hope Centre,</strong> that supports disabled hill-children who are particularly vulnerable and would struggle for a <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">present</em>, let alone a <em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">future</em>, without such places. The centre is run by a local team and has been set up by a charity called <strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">New Futures Nepal</em></strong> – they have a website linked to this page with their history and mission.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #365f91; mso-themecolor: accent1; mso-themeshade: 191;"><span style="font-size: small;">I am personally looking to get involved with the upkeep of the orphanage building as well as investigating and implementing any potential improvements that the team there has identified (and potentially many more that are yet to be identified!).</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #365f91; mso-themecolor: accent1; mso-themeshade: 191;"><span style="font-size: small;">One such project is the repair and/or redesign of a wheelchair ramp and access path.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Currently it looks like it would have a better place in a theme-park yet has no safety rail!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Estimated costs are around £150 to re-surface the ramps and path and to install some railing.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: #365f91; mso-themecolor: accent1; mso-themeshade: 191;"><span style="font-size: small;">Your donations on this site (or to me personally) are going to be used to fund such projects through supplying materials and/or labour.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They will not be used to support me in any way – unless I need local help or perhaps even sourcing machinery.</span></span></p>
