We rebuild lives affected by cancer to help children rediscover their childhood

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, this year I am again running the Bath Half Marathon - despite having done it twice before it will be no less of an achievement as I have adopted that proven training technique of letting myself get into the peak of physcial unfitness again!

This year I am running for a charity that one of my colleagues James O'Riordan has introduced me to, Barretstown (http://www.barretstown.org).

Barretstown is a specially-designed camp for children with serious illnesses - primarily cancer and serious blood diseases - from Ireland, Britain and throughout Europe, and their families. They provide a unique programme of adventure, activities and fun – backed by the medical world - which helps children with serious illness regain their confidence and self-esteem and has become internationally recognised as having a profound and positive impact on their lives.

A few weeks ago James invited me to an event for Barretstown where we heard from thier CEO about the great work they do and from a young girl who had personally benefited from this great charity - this inspired me to run for them again this year.

Many thanks for your support.
