Family Holiday Association

Completed in 2:29:17, which is 43 secs inside my target!! That put me in 28,117th place out of about 40,000 finishers.

I am jogging not running the Great North Run to raise money for Tha Family Holiday Association a charity that provides holidays and recreational activities for families and children who are affected by poverty and disadvantage. It is a great cause and well worth your support.

Training Progress (proves I'm taking it seriously)

I have run a good number of Half Marathons in my time but that was when I had hair, was 20lbs lighter and 15 years younger. My best time was 1:44 and worst was 1:59. My ambitions are much reduced now 2:30 would be fine. Training is going OK with almost daily jogs and on a longer run I managed 7 miles in 70 minutes so not too bad with just under 6 weeks to go. I hear a night out in Newcastle can be very lively and a super way to finish your training!!
