The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Well, it's been a while since I did my last sponsored event for Guide Dogs - but the lovelies at the charity highlighted a blind drive event in Norfolk to me and I was interested.

Brave BSM instructors are teaming up with the fundraising department at guide dogs to hold this blind drive event on March 27th - both for blind and sighted people.. but the trick is, if you can see, you'll be blind-folded!

Ok, so the bottom line is that I need to raise £100 for this event, but I'd like to double it, and I hope you can help in some small way.

Thank you in advance, and now for the Justgiving donation wordies:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

----- back to my wordies ----

Did you know that it costs nearly £50,000 to train and support just one guide dog partnership, but that Guide Dogs only charges 50 pence to successful Applicants so no one is excluded from this life-changing service.

Over 1,100 guide dog puppies are currently born in the UK each year - and the Association is looking to increase this.

*** Guide Dogs receives NO Government Funding ***
