We support people across Scotland to have better mental health and wellbeing.

Story

Background

One in four people in Scotland will have a mental health problem at some point in their life. In a way, we are all affected by mental health issues, whether it's touched the life of a loved one or even crossed our own path.

Recently we had a suicide in the family and the effect it's had on the people left behind has been huge. It was this that spurred me on to commit to doing my first ever 5k fun run (2012 Glasgow Running Network 5k Fun Run on the 1st April) to raise awareness of mental health problems and support SAMH, Scotland's leading mental health charity.

A very important part of their work is supporting people who have lost a loved one to suicide. This year, SAMH launched its National Programme for Suicide Prevention . As well as providing expert support every day to people with mental health problems, they work hard to promote positive mental health throughout Scotland. They now need to raise funds to deliver this crucial programme: your help could give a future to someone at risk of suicide.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So, if you can, please help me support this great charity by donating now.
