We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

Alison and Camilla have been friends for nearly 45 years. In 2015, they will hit 55 and have decided to take the long Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robins Hood Bay to celebrate this - walking 192 miles in 16 days.  Alison's husband John, himself 55,  was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease two years ago. John (pictured above) is a postman and,  in spite of his Parkinson's,  still walks 8.5 miles per day carrying loads of up to 16kg - equivalent to doing the Coast to Coast every month.  Camilla and Alison decided that they wanted to use their walk to raise awareness and money for Parkinsons UK which supports John and other Parkinson's sufferers, who carry on with life whilst suffering a range of debilitating symptoms

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
