I have had no personal experience with the loss of sight, my very large family have been very lucky that way. 

But I feel that we should support causes that haven't impacted our lives just as much as the ones that do. Why do we only care to help after a loved one begins to suffer?

Maybe raising money for research will spare anybody in my family from having to deal with going blind in the future.
